A €37m solar farm development has been approved for Kildare.
According to Construction Information Services (CIS), Cadamstown Solar Limited has been granted planning permission for an 80.9 hectare development in the townlands of Mulgeeth and Mucklon, Co Kildare.
An Bord Pleanála approved planning permission for the development following an appeal being lodged.

The plans involve constructing and completing a solar pv energy development over a period of 10 years on a total site area of 80.9 hectares.
The development is comprised of the construction of pv panels mounted on metal frames; transformer stations; grp units; internal access tracks; perimeter fencing with CCTV cameras and access gates; electrical cabling and ducting; and temporary construction compounds.
There is also to be widening of an existing entrance as well as landscaping and all ancillary infrastructure and associated works.
The solar farm will be operational for 35 years and the export capacity to grid is estimated to be c. 56mw mec.
A Natura Impact Statement (NISE) has been prepared in respect of the application. (An Bord Pleanála Ref: 321991)
