Allenwood man Noel Moore with a well-earned pint of Guinness
Allenwood man Noel Moore raised over €2,500 for the Allenwood GFC Development Fund after he completed a marathon around the Allenwood GFC grounds.
The 67 year-old is known as a great club man and devout Kildare GAA supporter and members turned out in their droves to support his effort to complete the 42km distance. Members of Allenwood GFC took turns doing laps alongside Noel on the day and he strolled over the final few metres to soak in the enormous applause and watch the blue flags flying.
Club legend Johnny Doyle was in attendance and was on hand to give Noel a well-earned pint of Guinness after he completed the mammoth distance. Noel’s children Decky, Vinnie, and Bernie were by his side for the day collecting donations and keeping him hydrated.

The club are currently in the midst of fundraising for their “A Night at the OsKaRs” event in October, which other clubs in Kildare like Carbury and Clogherinkoe have also hosted with great success. Noel will be playing Georgie Burgess in The Snapper as part of the event.
