A Rathangan, Co Kildare school has applied for planning permission for a €1.4m extension to its school building.
According to Construction Information Services (CIS), St Patrick's B.N.S., Bracknagh Road, Rathangan, Co Kildare applied for planning permission on July 28 2025, with McCarthy O'Hora and Associates listed as architects.

The plan comprises of the construction of a two-storey SEN base extension with a floor area of 934sqm.
The SEN base comprises of two class bases with associated safe space, store, WCs and changing places, central activities space and associated WCs, office and boiler room.
The first floor extension comprises of four classrooms with ensuite WCs, resource room and store.
The development also includes provision for:
The removal of an existing prefab replaced with new tarmacadem play area.
Part removal of existing boundary and trees, replaced with new boundary treatment.
Demolition of existing changing rooms (48sq.m).
New enclosed Sensory Garden and SEN Play area.
Four additional car parking spaces in existing car park.
A new gas tank and secure fence enclosure.
Construction of new changing rooms (87sq.m).
The plans also include all other associated landscaping, drainage, site services and ancillary work.
