“Naas is one of the fastest growing areas in Ireland (and) another school is desperately needed,” he said.
The councillor asked if any sites are being bought by the Department of Education for the provision of new schools in Naas, Sallins, Kill and Johnstown “given the substantial increase in population and development in these areas.”?
But according to Kildare County Council these projects are “a matter wholly” for the department.
KCC also said that it has no “direct role in the purchase of sites or delivery of such projects save for ensuring sufficient lands are zoned in each settlement and the assessment of planning applications.”
