A kayaking club based in County Kildare has announced a juvenile award course, just days after announcing a course for adults.

It also follows after the club said that it would be organising a family fun day in Monasterevin next month.

According to the club, the Level 2 Kayak Skills Award is a 15-hour training course "designed to give paddlers the skills to kayak safely and confidently on flat water, Grade 1 rivers, and sheltered coastal areas as part of a peer group.

"You’ll also learn how to plan and carry out a flat-water trip, taking all relevant factors into account."

The club also emphasised that this award is a prerequisite for joining Monasterevin Blueway Kayak Club."
