An assault incident, which involved the use of a weapon, took place at a McDonald's fast food restaurant in County Kildare.
Details of the crime were read out on KFM earlier today (September 10) by Detective Garda Shona Nolan, who appeared as a guest on the station during one of its programmes.
She told host Clem Ryan that the "serious assault" occurred in the Newbridge branch of McDonald's last night (September 9 last).
Det Gda Nolan also said that a weapon was used by the perpetrator against the injured party, but did not specify what this weapon was.
She added that the perpetrator had their face covered and fled the scene in the direction of the Standhouse Road.

Det Gda Nolan concluded by urging anyone with information related to this incident to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this particular crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of an alleged assault causing harm at a business premises in Moorefield, Newbridge, County Kildare on Tuesday, September 9 last at approximately 9pm."
The spokesperson added that the investigation remains ongoing.
