Residents throughout County Kildare are being urged to "clear out their wardrobes" for a good cause.

As explained by Kildare town AFC on social media, a new clothes bank has been installed on the club's premises, in order to help it raise funds for its 3G Astro Pitch Project. 

"Every bag donated helps us build a better future for our club and community," Kildare town AFC added.

The club also outlined the types of donated items that will and will not be accepted.

Acceptable items include:

  • Clothes
  • Shoes (paired)
  • Handbags
  • Belts
  • Bed linen
  • Curtains

Conversely, non-acceptable items include:

  • Duvets 
  • Pillows 
  • Carpets 
  • Rugs 
  • Wet or damaged items
