Concerns raised as cobbled area in Kildare ‘looks like a garden’.
A Kildare county councillor has raised concerns over one cobbled area in South Kildare, describing it as looking "more like a garden".
The comments were made by Fianna Fáil Cllr Veralouise Behan at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which was held on Monday, September 15 last.
While in attendance at this meeting, Cllr Behan motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to "replace the cobbled area at St Dominic's Park, Athy with a surface that is easier to maintain."
Elaborating on her motion, Cllr Behan told KCC that over the past year, there has been an increase in weeds growing in the area.
"It looks more like a garden in the summertime," she added.
In response to Cllr Behan's motion, KCC told her that the Municipal District Office would look into the possibility of replacement works in the third quarter of this year.
