Kildare teacher raising thousands for her autism class with 10km run

Naas woman Emma Clancy teaches in the autism class at Ballycane, where she is running the Naas Town 10km on Sunday, September 28 to raise funds for her six pupils.

The funds will go towards sensory equipment, classroom resources, and providing valuable learning experiences. In the description of her fundraiser, the teacher jokes that since she’s “athletically challenged” and that the 10km run "may as well be the Dublin Marathon for her" but she is determined to make it happen for her students.

So far, the Kildare woman has raised €1,980 of her €2,800 target through 69 donations.
