'Highly intoxicated' driver arrested in this Kildare town

Driver also had no insurance

While on patrol at North Main Street, Naas, Kildare recently, Gardaí observed a car being driven in a very erratic manner.

The driver was found to be highly intoxicated and was even seen drinking while driving.

The driver was arrested and taken to Naas Garda Station, where an Evidential Breath Test showed they were almost four times over the legal alcohol limit.

The car was also seized, as the driver had no insurance.

The driver has been charged with drunken driving and no insurance and will appear in court soon.

Penalties include:

A fine of up to €5,000 and a mandatory three-year driving disqualification.
