The Mayor of Newbridge has motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to consider a request for a School Warden in Caragh.
Fianna Fáil councillor Noel Heavey submitted the motion at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, September 17 last.
Specifically, his motion read as follows: "That, following representations on behalf of school management in relation to safety issues at Caragh School, the council considers a request for a School Warden."
Mayor Heavey’s motion was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Peggy O’Dwyer.
KCC told Mayor Heavey in response: "If the details of the representation can be forwarded to the Sustainable Transport Section, then the matter can be considered and a response issued."
Mayor Heavey replied that he accepted KCC’s report.
