Naas General Hospital (NGH) in Co Kildare said it is currently experiencing a high number of patients with respiratory infections, which appear to be circulating in the community.
It said that, as a result, visiting restrictions have been implemented to help reduce the spread of the virus within the healthcare setting.
It added that on some wards, only compassionate visits are permitted.
A statement added: "For up-to-date guidelines on visiting patients, please visit: www2.hse.ie/services/hospitals/naas-general-hospital/ .
"Please do not visit if you feel unwell or experience any respiratory symptoms.
"Service users attending the hospital are also asked to wear a face mask while on the premises.
"These measures will be lifted as soon as possible when clinical circumstances allow.
"Naas General Hospital management would like to thank members of the public for their support in preventing the spread of infection in the hospital.
"Their help is vital to protect patients, staff, and the wider community."
