Kildare gardai carry out multi-agency checkpoints on R445 and R148

Kildare's Naas RPU this week carried out multi-agency checkpoints on the R445 and R148, Kildare.

The following detections were made:

• Five vehicles impounded – four for having no insurance and one for an unaccompanied learner driver.

• 113 drivers were tested for intoxicants – two drivers were arrested for drug driving (positive for cocaine and cannabis.)

• One disqualified driver was arrested and charged.

• One driver was detected with a fake driving licence and no insurance – the driver's van and licence were seized.

• Nine Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) were issued for a range of other offences.
