There are no plans to install a Columbarium Wall in one County Kildare cemetery, Kildare County Council (KCC) has said.
The statement was made by KCC in relation to a query from a councillor who attended the latest Kildare-Newbridge meeting on Wednesday, October 15 last.
At this meeting, Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer asked KCC to confirm if it had considered St Brigid’s Cemetery in Kilcullen for the installation of a Columbarium Wall.
KCC replied to her query via its report at the meeting.
In its response, KCC said that it currently has no plans for a Columbarium Wall in St Brigid’s cemetery Kilcullen.
However, KCC added: "Subject to capital funding being available, with the members’ agreement, the council may include provision of a Columbarium Wall in Kilcullen in a future works programme."
Cllr O'Dwyer said that she accepted this report.
