An Garda Síochána Kildare/Carlow have stated they will be conducting a “significant” road safety enforcement operation over the October Bank Holiday Weekend.

This initiative will involve increased patrols, checkpoints, and targeted enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of all road users.

The primary focus of Gardai will include:

  • Intoxicated driving (drink and drug driving)

  • Enforcement of Lifesaver Offences

  • Disruption of criminals using our road network

Kildare motorists should expect increased Garda presence across the road network. There will also be targeted enforcement of offences such as:

  • Speeding

  • Drink and drug driving

  • Dangerous driving

  • Distracted driving (mobile phone use, etc.)

A message from An Garda Síochána Kildare/Carlow stated:

“Remember: never drink or drug drive; always wear your seat belt; stay off your phone while driving; drive within posted speed limits.

“Let’s work together to make our roads safer for everyone this bank holiday weekend.”
