The implementation of more "warning" and "slow down" signage has been sought for one junction located in County Kildare.

The request was heard at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which took place on Monday, October 20 last.

At this meeting, Labour Party councillor Aoife Breslin motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to install the signage at the junction of Levittstown / Rosetown, which is situated on the R417.

According to Cllr Breslin, "a lot of speeding" has taken place in the region.

She also said that she would like to see gardaí carrying out patrols at this junction.

In response to her motion, KCC told Cllr Breslin that the Municipal District Office had added her request to its signage maintenance schedule.

Cllr Breslin replied that she was satisfied with KCC's response to her motion.
