Kildare driver caught with no insurance

Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol at Jigginstown, Co Kildare recently when they stopped this car.

Gardaí checked the Insurance App which revealed the vehicle was uninsured.

Gardaí would like to remind members of the public: “Insurance is mandatory, not optional.”

The driver's vehicle was seized with a court appearance to follow.

The penalty for having no insurance is:

  • A fine of up to €5,000

  • And/or six months imprisonment

  • Plus a two-year disqualification
