 
												The late Ryan Gibbons (RIP)
A number of online tributes have been paid to a Kildare town man who died following a fatal assault which occurred on October 26 last.
Ryan Gibbons, aged in his 20s, had been hospitalised for his injuries but was pronounced dead yesterday (October 30 last), according to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána.
One person who posted a tribute in memory of the late Ryan Gibbons said about him: "[I] can't believe this, absolutely shocking.
"RIP Gibby, until we meet again."
Another person said that the late Ryan Gibbons was "a great guy".
They elaborated: "[I] had the opportunity to be in the same school as him, always had good laughs on him, friendly to all, and would never do no harm to no one.
"Hope the justice [system] now does it job to punish those to [sic] did that to him.
"My condolences to the family and all friends close to him."
In addition, one person said: "Rest in Peace Gibby; a smile that will be remembered forever and an energy levels [sic] that would brighten anyone's day."
Lastly, another person made an emotional post about the late Ryan Gibbons: "I really can't believe I'm typing this, it doesn't feel real."
They further described the late Ryan Gibbons as "a pure gentleman, a genuine G" who "never wanted any trouble, always brought the best out in people, kept his head high every day with a smile".#
WITNESS APPEAL
A garda spokesperson has said that An Garda Síochána is continuing to appeal to anyone with information in relation to this fatal incident.
"Any road users who were in the area between 2am and 4am and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí."
The spokesperson added: "Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kildare [town] Garda Station on 045 527 730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station."
