Kildare County Council’s Kildare Library Service has announced that the construction of the new Newbridge Library & Local Studies is due to commence in 2026.
The new state-of-the-art library is being constructed on the existing site as the current Newbridge Community Library, therefore, before construction commences the Newbridge Community Library will temporarily close on Thursday, December 11 at 8pm to facilitate an important move to Liffey Lodge, Newbridge.
Liffey Lodge will serve as the temporary home for Newbridge Community Library and will ensure that library services remain accessible to the community throughout the construction period.
As part of the relocation to the temporary premises, library users are advised of the following service updates:
From Saturday, 22 November there will be no in-library request service. Customers can request items online and select an alternative Kildare library as a collection point.
Your library membership is valid in any Kildare library and your library is open online 24/7.
The library service no longer charges fines for late items, though library users wishing to return library items can do so at any other Kildare library.
