A chainsaw and a leaf blower were among a number of items which were recently stolen from a cemetery located in North Kildare.

The incident was highlighted by Garda William Barry when he appeared as a guest on a radio programme which was aired by KFM yesterday (November 26 last).

He told host Hannah Kelly that the incident occurred at Donaghcumper Cemetery sometime between 5.30pm on Sunday, November 23 last and 6.30am on Monday, November 24 last.

According to Gda Barrys, items such as a chainsaw, a leaf blower, lawn mowers and knapsack sprayers were stolen from the cemetery.

He added that anyone with information and / or video footage of the incident is urged to contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 628 8222.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating a burglary that occurred at a premises in Celbridge, County Kildare on Monday morning, November 24, 2025.

"A number of items were reported as stolen."

The spokesperson also said that investigations are ongoing.
