Patricia Keane
Following the international success of her groundbreaking documentary series on pornography for Shalom World TV, Kildare author and broadcaster Patricia Keane, a native of Suncroft, has created a powerful new series addressing one of the most urgent and sensitive crises of our time: suicide.
The Catholic network—reaching 137 million viewers worldwide—has now taken on Keane’s second major work, titled Never the End.
Never the End is the culmination of months of intensive research, personal interviews, and close collaboration with suicide survivors. Before writing the series, Patricia spent significant time working with individuals who had attempted to take
their own lives, listening to their harrowing stories and tracing the emotional, psychological, and spiritual journeys that brought them to the edge. Her compassionate approach encouraged participants to open up in ways they had never before, enabling unprecedented levels of honesty and vulnerability.

The series features nine participants from across Ireland, each offering a unique, deeply personal account of their struggle. Their testimonies are supported and contextualised by two distinguished mental health professionals: Professor Patricia
Casey, a renowned psychiatrist and commentator, and Dr Máire McLoughlin, family psychiatrist.
Their insights help frame the survivors’ experiences and bring greater meaning, understanding, and depth to the suffering described.
Never the End offers not only awareness but hope, understanding, and the reassurance that even in life’s darkest valleys, there remains the possibility of healing, reconnection, and renewal. With its multilingual reach and deeply human storytelling, the series continues Patricia Keane’s mission to illuminate complex subjects with courage, empathy, and truth.
Never the End, the nine-part series, premieres online at www.shalomworld.org on Wednesday, 3 December at 9:30 pm.
