One County Kildare town is set to become a glowing Winter wonderland later this week.

According to the Newbridge Christmas Lights Committee, the town can expect "twinkly lights, festive tunes, and maybe even a 'ho,ho,ho'" in the latest iteration of the free light switch ceremony.

The Committee added: "Spinning the feel-good tunes will be none other than DJ Miley Wickham, while Lorraine Nolan and The Liffey Choir will fill the street with fabulous Christmas carols, even the Grinch might sing along."

In addition, the organisers teased that a certain festive Saint might make a surprise appearance...

Furthermore, they said that local photographers will be snapping away at the event, so they recommend for all attendees to dress to impress — "you might just end up in the paper!" they added.

Lastly, the Committee said that it would like to thank its "generous sponsors": Kildare County Council, The Keadeen Hotel, The Curragh Racecourse, Life Credit Union, Newbridge Community Development and June Fest.

The light switch ceremony will take place at George's Street on Friday, December 5, 2025.

It will begin at 4.30pm and conclude at 6pm.
