New horse stables planned for this Kildare town

A planning application has been submitted to Kildare County Council for the construction of 10 horse stables for the rearing and training of horses, in Kilcullen, Co Kildare.

According to Construction Information Services, planning application number 2561334 was submitted to the local authority on November 26 2025 with respect to a site addressed at Ballyshannon, Kilcullen, Co Kildare.

  • The scheme comprises of the following:
    the erection of 10 horse stables with a tackroom, rug room, dry feed store

  • Hay storage shed with covered dungstead and effluent holding tank

  • The erection of two storey type farm house with single storey element to side (south west) elevation

  • The installation of an Oakstown BAF wastewater treatment plant with polishing filter percolation area

  • Garage / store for domestic use and

  • Upgrading of the existing field entrance to form a recessed vehicular entrance and all associated site works.

The architect for the project is Nugent Planning & Design.
