An animal charity based in County Kildare and West-Wicklow will host a music event in a well-known shopping centre this weekend.

Taking to social media to announce the event, the Kildare and West-Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KWWSPCA) said that the event, which will take place inside the Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge, will feature music, dancing and "a chance for shoppers to support a very worthy cause".

The KWWSPCA added: "Robbie Fallon will be our Master of Ceremonies and the day will feature the Cill Dara Figure Dancing Class, the Choir of the Friends of the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter and John's Boot Leggers (Line Dancing); come along and enjoy the entertainment!"

Furthermore, the KWWSPCA has said that it will be selling its 2026 charity calendars on the day.

The 'Music Day' will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

It will begin at 10am and conclude at 5am.

BRIEF BACKGROUND

According to the official KWWSPCA website, the organisation was initially founded in 1940 as the Kildare SPCA, with West-Wicklow included at a later date, in order to help prevent and deal with cases of animal cruelty.

It is run solely by volunteers and is a registered charity.

The KWWSPCA's animal shelter is located in Oldtown, Athgarvan.

In addition, the group also runs a charity shop, Noah's Ark, which is located on the Cutlery Road in Newbridge.
