A clean-up operation is on the way for a County Kildare site which is located near a river.
Kildare County Council (KCC) issued the assurances at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which took place yesterday (December 8 last).
At this meeting, Labour Party Cllr Aoife Breslin motioned for KCC to arrange to have the area adjacent to the Barrow River at Edmund Rice Square in Athy cleaned up.
In response to her motion, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting that it would arrange this requested clean-up operation.
