Several motorists caught breaking speed limit in Monasterevin, Kildare

As part of its ongoing Road Safety Christmas Campaign, #NaasRPU carried out a speed check in Monasterevin, Co Kildare recently.

Several motorists were detected travelling well above the 50 km/h speed limit.

Gardai report that the location is outside the Hazel Hotel where residents from Monasterevin resident groups have voiced major concerns regarding excessive speed. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) of €160 and three penalty points were issued to each offending motorist.

A message from An Garda Síochána Kildare stated: “Please remember: slow down. Everyone wants to arrive safely—and the most important thing is that you do arrive.
