Before the court was Greg Fields, 38, whose address was given as Samara, Killina, Carbury.
He faces an allegation of dangerous driving on February 2, 2025, on the R415 at Derrymullen, Allenwood.
Gda King said the injured party was running on a straight road and was wearing a high vis top.
He alleged the defendant was witnessed driving on the wrong side of the road and the woman came into contact with the bonnet and windscreen.
The garda also claimed she was “falling in and out of consciousness.”
The woman reportedly sustained a bleed to the brain, concussion, three lacerations and a torn ligament in her neck. She had to have a plate inserted.
Judge Desmond Zaidan confirmed that free legal aid had been granted to the defendant.
He adjourned the case to March 18.
