As National Slow Down Day rolled out across the county today, the Kildare–Carlow Garda Division has reminded all road users to slow down.
In Rathcoffey this morning, NaasRPU detected two vehicles travelling at 80km/h and 88km/h - well in excess of the 50 km/h limit.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Speed kills. Higher speed means less reaction time, longer stopping distances and deadlier collisions.
“Slow down. We will all get there — but only if we drive responsibility.”
