Last evening, Naas Gardaí encountered a vehicle parked illegally across two disabled parking bays in Naas, Co Kildare.

The driver claimed he was “only waiting” while a friend collected food.

An Garda Síochána Kildare would like to remind the public that disabled parking bays are not waiting areas, drop-off points, or convenience parking. They are legally protected spaces for people who rely on them for access and independence.

A Garda spokesperson noted: “Such behaviour shows a complete disregard for those with disabilities and will be enforced without exception.”

A €150 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) was issued, and drivers are reminded that misuse of disabled parking bays is an offence.
