The Naas Roads Policing Unit have detected a motorist speeding at 112 kilometres per hour (km / h) in an 80km / h zone.
According to the official An Garda Síochána Kildare Facebook page: "As part of our Christmas Road Safety Campaign on the R402 in Collinstown, a number of motorists were detected speeding."
"Fastest of the day? 112km / h in an 80km / h zone — while overtaking a car already doing the speed limit.
"What was the point? Three penalty points actually, and a €160 fine; no time saved here."
The page concluded: "Get the point — not the points."
