'A ban would reduce noise pollution'

Heavy Goods Vehicle ban sought for Main Street of this Kildare town

Plans are being made to restrict heavy goods vehicles driving through Sallins.

Cllr Anne Breen asked Kildare County Council to address the issue and said a ban would reduce noise pollution, especially during early morning.

KCC said it is “working towards implementing an HGV restriction in Sallins.”

A Naas Municipal District committee meeting was told that the first two steps are to complete the taking in charge of the Millennium Park Road and then to reclassify this road.

KCC also said this is ongoing and once this is completed “the focus will move to the implementation of an HGV restriction including the erection of suitable signage.”
