BREAKING: Man dies in road traffic collision in Kildare town
Gardaí and emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of the incident on the R445

A man aged in his 40s has died in a road traffic collision in Kildare town this evening.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of the incident on the R445.
The collision involved a car and a pedestrian and occurred at approximately 6pm on the Monasterevin Road, leaving Kildare Town in the direction of Monasterevin.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, has been pronounced dead and his body remains at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
The road is currently closed between Monasterevin and Kildare Town with local diversions in place.
A technical examination will be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 5:00pm and 6:30pm this evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
