The construction of three padel tennis courts, along with an accompanying coffee unit, has been proposed for one County Kildare town.
The developments have been proposed by two separate businesses: Padel-Tennis Sports Limited, and Jack and Harry's Coffee Ltd.
In an attempt to progress this project, both businesses submitted a planning permission application to Kildare County Council and detailed their intention to construct the facilities in Newbridge Industrial Estate (however, the exact proposed location within this region was not specified).
According to the description contained within the application, the businesses want to construct three padel tennis courts, along with an "associated should tent for cover". They also want to provide a "modular unit for toilets".
The applicants are also seeking permission to construct a "drive-through coffee [facility] with an associated coffee unit building".
In addition, permission is being sought for "associated parking, with both [sites] using the existing vehicular entrance".
Lastly, permission is being sought by the applicants for all associated site works".
The date received is listed as December 23 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as February 4, 2026 and February 25, 2026 respectively.
