According to recent government figures, the number of Ukrainian refugees (Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection) being housed in Co Kildare has risen just marginally since July 2025.
The latest government report, dated January 4 2026, notes that the number of BOTPs in short-term accommodation is taken from the ePass bed management system, and “may be underestimated due to delays in feedback of movement of BOTPs.”
As of July 27 2025, there were a total of 524 Ukrainian BOTPs being accommodated in short-term accommodation by the State in Co Kildare.
Of those being accommodated, 262 were male and 262 were female.

The figures compare with Laois total 255 (male: 109, female: 146, minors: 104); and Carlow 136 total (male: 51, female: 85, minors: 41.)
Dublin has the most BOTPs, with 3554 (male: 1548, female: 2005, minors: 903)
The total number of people in state supported accommodation (non-90 day Designated Accommodation Centres) as of January 4 2026 is 19,660, while the total in emergency rest centres is zero.
The total number of people in 90 day Designated Accommodation Centres now stands at 588, with the number in state supported accommodation currently at 20,248.
