A woman residing in County Kildare has renewed her appeal over her missing dog.

Tyson, a Shih Tzu / Bichon mix with curly hair, was first reported missing back in the summer of 2025, with his owner, Rebecca, offering a €1,000 reward at the time for the safe return of Tyson.

She also claimed at the time that Tyson had allegedly been sighted in Brownstown, Sheshoon, Maddenstown and Cut Bush.

And now, unfortunately, Rebecca has told the Leader that Tyson remains missing from his family home.

Speaking about the impact of his absence, Rebecca said that it has been "absolutely heartbreaking; nothing but heartache".

Rebecca further said: "Every time I get a call or message regarding a dog [looking] like Tyson, we go straight away.

"We have saved a few little dogs while looking for Tyson, and with the help of amazing people, they get to go to a new homes that they deserve."

She also revealed that as the result of one check, she recently took a deceased dog's body recently from The Curragh.

"It wasn’t Tyson, but these people that we have helping us are angels; always there if we need them," Rebecca added. "So many times they do this work in their spare time, which is amazing,

Rebecca also told the Leader that she believes that Tyson is being kept somewhere, but is not being given back — the possibility of which is "so hard" for Rebecca and her family to consider.

Still, she asserted: "We will never give up hope on him coming home to us one day, and we will never stop searching for him."

ADVICE FROM OWNER

According to Rebecca, Tyson will run and hide if he is approached. As such, she has urged anyone who spots him to refrain from calling or chasing after him.

Instead, Rebecca recommended for them try to take a photograph of Tyson from a distance (it should be noted that Tyson has distinctive black colouring on the ends of his ears and a slight black stripe on his tail).

Anyone who has information relating to Tyson's whereabouts is asked to call Rebecca on 086 026 9740.

In addition, anyone who can provide her with a Google Maps pin drop, or Eircode, of Tyson's location is also encouraged to share this information with Rebecca.

The reward for Tyson's safe return has been increased to €1,500.
