In 2025, the KWWSPCA provided care and assistance to more than 1,000 cats and dogs in what proved to be a very busy year.

Over the course of the twelve months, more than 250 dogs were successfully re-homed, 381 cats and kittens found new homes, and 873 cats and kittens were neutered.

"We are very grateful to all our volunteers who were instrumental in this achievement and we look forward to continuing our important work in the year ahead," said a KWWSPCA volunteer.

There are lots of ways to support the charity to allow it to continue to do it's good work in 2026.

"Now that we’re into a New Year, you might be planning a clear out to make room for the new Christmas items that arrived into your home. Our charity shop, Noah’s Ark, in Newbridge, welcome donations of good-quality clothing, kitchenware and household items. If you don’t have items to donate however, why not pop along and pick up one of our fabulous bargains.
Some of the items donated still have tags on them and have never been worn. Unwanted gifts, still in their original packaging are often donated," she added.

"As our shop is run by volunteers, all proceeds go directly to the animals in our care. So worth remembering that, every purchase or donation you make is helping an animal in need."

The KWWSPCA also thanked the government and Kildare South Minister, Martin Heydon, for the allocation of an €80,000 grant.
