Eight people on trolleys in Kildare's main hospital today

Patients advised to avoid Naas Hospital due to high numbers presenting there

Eight patients were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.

It was the least overcrowded hospital in the eastern region. The most overcrowded was St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, where there were 53 patients on trolleys.

There were none on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital while five were treated on trolleys at Portlaoise Hospital.
