Kildare vehicle crashed in Prosperous after evading Gardai

A vehicle that failed to stop for Gardai in Prosperous, Co Kildare recently was involved in a crash nearby.

According to An Garda Síochána Kildare, alcohol was a “major factor” in the incident.

The driver was said to be drunk, uninjured, and had no driving licence.

The vehicle also had no motor tax or NCT.

The immediate consequences were:

- The driver was arrested

- Charged with drink driving

- Charged with dangerous driving

- The vehicle was impounded

- A court appearance will follow

A Garda spokesperson said of the incident: “This time, no one else was hurt. Next time, someone may not be so lucky.

Drink driving is never worth it.

Speed and bravado don’t equal skill. Slow down. Stay sober. Make it home.”
