Ben Loakman and Cian Boran in action for Kildare
The Kildare footballers and hurlers both have a chance at the first silverware of the season this weekend when they contest the O'Byrne Cup and Walsh Shield finals respectively.
Brian Flanagan's footballers are up first on Friday, January 16 at 7:30pm where they will take on Westmeath in Cedral St Conleth's park in the O'Byrne Cup final.

Brian Dowling's men face his native Kilkenny this Sunday, January 18 at 2pm at John Lockes GAA, Callan in the Walsh Shield final. Kildare came through a stiff test in difficult conditions against Davy Fitzgerald's Antrim to reach the final while opponents Kilkenny beat Laois 2-17 to 0-10, even with a much-changed line up for The Cats.
