Public car park won't be reopening in this Kildare town

It would have cost too much money, says Kildare County Council

A public car park in north Kildare won’t be reopening for public use.

According to Kildare County Council, it was unable to come to an agreement with the owners of the car park “without imposing a significant financial loss on the pay parking budget.”

Cllr Rupert Heather had asked KCC, at a Celbridge Leixlip Municipal District meeting, to provide an update on the reopening of the Celbridge Abbey car park, “including timelines for the restoration of public access.”
