20 patients on trolleys at Kildare's main hospital today

It's among the most overcrowded facilities in the area

Patients advised to avoid Naas Hospital due to high numbers presenting there

Some 20 patients were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, having come in via the accident and emergency department.

The most overcrowded facility in the eastern region was St James's Hospital which had 27 people on trolleys.

There were two patients on trolleys at Portlaise Hospital and none at Tullamore Hospital.
