Volunteers and local businesses will take centre stage at one upcoming St Patrick’s Day Parade which will be held in County Kildare.
According to a statement released by the Newbridge St Patricks Day Parade Committee, the 2026 iteration of the town's St Patrick’s Day Parade "will proudly celebrate volunteers and business".
It further said that it wants to highlight "the vital role that voluntary organisations, community clubs and local businesses play in building and sustaining community life".
The Committee continued: "Under the theme 'Marching as One – Volunteers and Business, the Heart of a Community', the parade will recognise the people who give their time, skills, employment and local investment to support inclusion, participation and civic pride.
"Voluntary groups and community organisations are being encouraged to place their volunteers at the heart of their parade entry, showcasing the work they do locally while also highlighting opportunities for new volunteers to get involved."

"From mentors and drivers to committee members and fundraisers, the parade will act as a live call to action for community participation."
The Committee also revealed that sports clubs and community clubs will march with players, coaches, volunteers and families together at the upcoming Parade.
"Clubs are also encouraged to highlight the volunteers they need, including coaches, referees and administrative roles, reinforcing the message that sport and community activity rely on shared effort," the Committee added.
Furthermore, the Committee said that local businesses will take part in the event by marching with staff and volunteers, "acknowledging the partnerships and support they provide to clubs, groups and causes across the community".
RECOGNITION
The Chairperson of the Committee, Carl Murphy, also asserted that this year's version of the Parade will be about "recognising the people who make things happen every day".
He elaborated: “A strong community is built through hard work, generosity and partnership.
"A community doesn’t just happen, it is created by participation.
Carl added: "Newbridge needs people to get more involved in our town and make it a better place for all especially our children and teenagers."
Members of the public are being encouraged to attend the upcoming Parade, support participants and consider volunteering with local groups and clubs.
The Parade will commence at 11.45am on March 17, 2026.
In addition, an event launching the 2026 Parade will take place later this week in The Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge.
The launch will take place at 7pm this Friday, January 23, 2026.
