Plans for a much needed secondary school in this Kildare town are on hold

It's one of the largest single sex schools in Kildare

Plans for a new secondary school for St Mary's College in Naas have still not been finally approved.

A request for additional information surrounding the project was made by Naas Mayor Seamie Moore at a Naas Municipal District committee meeting.

According to Kildare County Council, it has not  has not received a recent update from the Department of Education in relation to a new second level school there.

KCC also said it will raise the issue with the department at the next meeting due to take place before the end of next March.
