Celbridge in Co Kildare is set to come alive in a riot of colour, music and community spirit on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, as the much-loved Celbridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns, promising an unforgettable celebration for all ages.
Organised by Celbridge Community Council, this year’s parade will step off at 4.00pm sharp, following the traditional route from Church Road, through Main Street, and on to Maynooth Road, finishing around 5.30pm.
The 2026 theme is Gulliver’s Travels, marking the 300th anniversary of Jonathan Swift’s iconic novel, which is closely linked to Celbridge. Participants and spectators alike are encouraged to embrace the imagination, whimsy and adventure of the theme.
Think giants, adventurers, strange lands and bold creativity.
At its heart, the parade ethos remains non-political, inclusive and community-focused, celebrating Ireland’s patron saint while welcoming everyone to take part.
This year’s parade boasts some spectacular highlights. A pre-parade gig will warm up the crowds from 2.30pm on Main Street, creating a festival atmosphere before the main event begins. We are also thrilled to welcome the world-famous Ohio State University Band, whose energy and musical excellence will add a truly international flavour to the celebrations.

How to take part:
Community groups, schools, sports clubs, charities, cultural organisations and businesses are warmly invited to enter. All parade participants must complete the official entry form, with the closing date of Thursday, 5 March 2026. Groups are
encouraged to perform as they move along the route, with limited performance slots available at the viewing stand.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the parade. From stewarding and information roles to behind-the-scenes support, there are many ways to get involved. Full briefings and safety guidance are provided, and volunteers play a vital role in ensuring a safe, friendly and enjoyable day for all.
Above all, this is a day for the whole community. Dress up, bring family and friends, line the streets early and soak up the atmosphere. The Celbridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026 – be part of it!
