Traffic plan 'will be required' when new street junction opens near two major Kildare schools

The new road junction will be created here at Fairgreen, Naas

Kildare County Council has been asked about plans for a traffic management plan at a new junction - which will bring significantly more traffic into the area.

Cllr Bill Clear has asked KCC to "confirm whether any preliminary or strategic traffic management plan has been commenced for St Corban’s Lane."

He believes it will be necessary because a "considerable scale of development" is proposed including works at the back of the Naas Plaza shopping centre to create a car park, the opening of a junction on to Corbans Lane from Fairgreen, proposed housing development as well as a building project at the Flood’s Cross scheme, the O’Brien site, and St Corban’s Boys National School.

The Naas CBS school already brings much traffic to the area.
