A brand-new social media page relating to the County Kildare dog warden service was set up over the weekend.

Kildare County Dog Shelter, which launched on Facebook on January 31 last, works to assist missing and lost dogs within the county.

Elaborating on the functions of the page, a representative for the shelter explained: "If any dogs are missing or strays are found [in Kildare], they come here.

"We depend on social media to help get dogs back to their owners and to rehome the dogs that have not been claimed."

They added: "Please give this page a like and share it with your friends, we have so many dogs needing forever homes."

The shelter's new page can be accessed here.

As of the time of publication, it has over 310 followers.
