During a Bank Holiday Monday evening speed check, members of An Garda Síochána Kildare in Kildare North detected six vehicles speeding in an 80km/h zone on the R402, Ardkill.

Recorded speeds included up to 115km/h in an 80km/h zone.

A garda spokesperson said: “Speeding puts lives at risk — yours and others. Speed limits are not targets.

Slow down, stay alert, and help keep our roads safe this bank holiday weekend.”
