Kildare County Council is pleased to announce the opening of the Creative Communities Grant 2026. Delivered as part of the Creative Ireland, all-of-government culture and wellbeing programme, and designed to inspire and empower people, places, and communities through creativity.

This call seeks to support ambitious, inclusive, and community-centred creative projects that will deepen public engagement with culture and creativity across County Kildare in 2026.

Projects may address cultural domains including Cultural & Natural Heritage, Performance & Celebration, Visual Arts & Crafts, Books & Press, Audio-visual & Interactive Media, Design & Creative Services, and Intangible Cultural Heritage. Projects should develop creative responses to climate and biodiversity crises; embed equality and cultural diversity; enhance wellbeing through creative participation, explore sense of place, heritage, and identity; and / or strengthen Kildare’s cultural ecosystem.

Applications are invited from individual creative practitioners and artists, community groups and SMEs for project grants ranging from €1,500 to €10,000. Kildare County Council is particularly interested in applications that expand access to culture, demonstrate strong community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, operate over a duration of time and directly involve public participation.

Applications must be submitted online by Sunday, March 1 at 12am (midnight). Supporting material is strongly recommended. Free information sessions will take place across County Kildare from February 9-11, offering guidance on the Creative Communities Grant. Applicants needing assistance should contact the Creative Ireland team at creative@kildarecoco.ie.

Applications and registration for info clinics can be made through the links provided  kildarecocoarts.submit.com. Applicants can attend any session of their choice.
