Gardaí at Athy Garda Station in Kildare are investigating two burglaries which occurred in the town on Friday, February 13 2026.

Both crimes were detailed on Kfm's Crime Watch slot on Wednesday, February 18 last.

Gda William Barry of Newbridge Garda Station explained that gardai are investigating a burglary at a commercial unit at Athy Business Park, which occurred on Friday, February 13 2026 between 3am and 7am.

While no items were taken from the unit, the culprits did gain entry to the premises, Gda Barry confirmed.

A second attempted burglary occurred at Páirc Bhride estate, Athy, also on Friday, February 13 2026 between 3am and 7am.

A culprit attempted to gain entry to a house but was disturbed and left in a car.

Gardai in Athy would like to speak to anyone who may have information relating to these incidents, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the hours of 3am and 7am.

While there is no evidence that these two incidents are connected, gardaí have said it is possible that they are.

Anyone who may have CCTV footage or any information in relation to these crimes is asked to contact Athy Garda Station at 059 8634210.

A garda statement read: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of burglary that occurred at a commercial premises in Athy Co.Kildare on Friday 13th February, 2026 between the hours of 3am and 7am. Investigation is ongoing.

“Gardaí are also investigating an alleged incident of attempted burglary at a residential property in Athy Co. Kildare on Friday 13th February, 2026 at approximately 4:20am. Investigation is ongoing.”
