Naas Roads Policing Unit were operating a Mandatory Intoxicant Checkpoint on the R410 near Eadestown, Co Kildare on Wednesday, February 18 2026.
Gardai are pleased to report that all drivers passed the test, and would like to thank everyone for their co-operation in making safe choices on our roads.
However, one vehicle was seized after it was discovered that road tax had been expired for 10 months. The driver — who is also the registered owner — had previously been stopped five months ago and advised to renew the tax but failed to do so.
The vehicle was subsequently impounded and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) and impound fees were issued.
A garda spokesperson said: "Please ensure your vehicle tax is up to date. Compliance keeps you legal and helps avoid unnecessary inconvenience and expense."
